Pre-Harvest Health and Safety

Course Aims

  • To raise awareness of the dangers in this specific working environment at a stressful time of the year in the agricultural calendar
  • To raise learners awareness of the problems surrounding lone working
  • To give practical health & safety advice about staying safe  
  •  If an accident / incident happens some basic first aid action to be taken
  •  To raise awareness of the mental toll on farmers when working long hours alone

Certification

All delegates will be awarded a Norvic certificate of attendance.

Course Venue

Starting this Spring open courses to be held regularly at our training venues in Norwich, Norfolk. Alternatively, courses can be arranged at your own site anywhere in the UK (subject to suitability).

Syllabus

  • By the end of the course learners will have refreshed their knowledge of the safe handling of large harvest machinery
  • Learners will  be reminded of useful equipment to have to hand for safety purposes
  • Learners will have had the opportunity to gain first aid skills appropriate to the common injuries in this environment
  • Learners will have been reminded of the signs of stress and depression and appropriate action to take
