QA Level 3 Award in First Aid at Work Requalification (RQF)

qualsafe logo

"I have been doing First Aid for 33 years and it was the best course I have been on."

Course Aims

To update and requalify existing first aiders to the required level of skill and knowledge in first aid, in accordance with the requirements of the Health and Safety (First Aid) Regulations 1981.

Suitable For

Any person who holds a current First Aid at Work certificate, which is nearing it's expiry date.

Course Length

2 days (12 contact hours)

To attend a requalifying course, learners must produce a copy of a First Aid at Work Certificate that is either HSE approved or Ofqual/SQA regulated. This certificate must not have expired by more than 3 months.

Note – When a first aider’s certificate has expired, that person will not be accepted as a workplace first aider under the Health & Safety (First Aid) Regulations 1981, so employers should be encouraged to requalify their first aiders early.

Temporary physical impairment - In situations where employers inform
training providers that an employee attending an FAW / EFAW course has a
temporary physical impairment, it may be sensible to advise them to defer
training until the individual is fit. If this is not possible and the student
has a temporary physical impairment, affecting for example mobility, a training
provider can temporarily accommodate this during training. For example, a knee
injury may prevent CPR training as the person is unable to kneel on the floor,
so the training could be delivered at waist height. However, the final
assessment must still be conducted at floor level. If you have any queries do contact us for advice.

Successful delegates will be awarded a certificate of competence accredited by Qualsafe Awards who are recognised by Ofqual. It is valid for three years.
