Course Aims
Course aims to train and qualify delegates in the knowledge and skills required to use an advisory external defibrillator (AED).
Suitable For
Any person who is expected to use an advisory external defibrillator as part of their first aid or other pre-hospital care role.
Course Length
4 hours
Pre-requisite
Delegates attending this course must be up-to-date in Basic Life Support techniques and have valid certification.
Certification
Successful candidates will be awarded a certificate of competence in the use of an AED which is valid for 1 year (in accordance with Resuscitation Council (UK) guidelines)Course Venue
Closed courses are held at our training venues throughout East Anglia or alternatively, courses can be arranged at clients' own site anywhere in the UK (subject to suitability)
Syllabus
• Introduction to the Chain of Survival • Using a medically controlled programme • Patient chest preparation • Reporting and recording procedures • Safety precautions when using an AED • Protocols and procedures • Attachment of electrodes • Critical incident debriefing.
