This is a half day course that meets the following objectives:

  • develop awareness of nutritional screening as an important risk factor in pressure sore development
  • to understand the nutritional requirements for wound healing
  • provide an effective tool for the assessment risk factors for residents with darkly pigmented skin
  • revise structure and function of the skin
  • introduction the stages of healing
  • to identify the factors that affect healing
  • review the ideal wound dressing
  • assess knowledge evidence through interactive question and answer game.
