Course Aims

To train delegates  in the safe and efficient practice of taking a blood sample.

Suitable For

Any healthcare provider working in the public or private sector who may be required to take a venous sample of blood from a patient or client as part of their care. This course is ideal for doctors, practice/community nurses and medical support workers.

Course Length

1 day

Pre-requisite

Delegates must be employed in an environment where this knowledge and skill is required for genuine clinical reasons and evidence of this may be requested on course booking.

Certification

Delegates will receive a Norvic certificate of attendance, which is valid for 1 year.

Course Venue

Closed courses are held at training venues throughout East Anglia or alternatively, courses can be arranged at clients' venue anywhere in the UK (subject to suitability).

• Venous anatomy • Equipment • Safe working practice and procedure • Indications/contridictions and hazards • Patient preparation • Post procedural care.
